A course on Teachmore consists of sections, and the sections contain items. Sections and items provide structure to your course, making it easier for students to choose what they want to learn or skip.
This article is a guide on adding sections and items to your course. Let's start by understanding the difference between them.
Difference between sections and items:
Sections and Items both determine the structure of your course.
Think of a section as a big box that contains various components. Each of these components is called an item.
Note that sections come before items. In other words, an item cannot exist without a section, because then it has nowhere to go!
First let's add a section to a course:
Creating a section:
- Under courses, select the course that you’d like to add content to.
2. Go to the content tab under editor.
Under Add a new section, add a name and description for your section.
There you have it - your section! It's now ready for items!
Items are what we collectively call the videos, images, text and other chunks of content contained in a section. These help you teach and test in innovative ways! Learn more about types of items on Teachmore.
Once created, it’s possible to move an item to a different section, anytime! Let's move an item from Section 6 to Section 5:
